'The Blacklist' season 4 premiere spoilers: Tom kills?

(Facebook/The Blacklist)"The Blacklist" season 4 sees Tom burying what appears to be a dead body. Who is it and who exactly killed the man?

Following all the shocking events that went down in the finale of "The Blacklist" season three, fans should fasten their seatbelts for a more nerve-racking ride when the show returns for its fourth season.

According to Zap2It, James Spader, who plays Red in the series, showed a teaser for the pilot episode of "The Blacklist" season four titled "Esteban #79" recently on the "Tonight Show."

Though there are so many other thrilling scenes on the clip, the most spectacular moment was that of Ryan Eggold's Tom seemingly burying a dead body. Who is it? It looks just like the body of the person who attacked him earlier but the bigger question is: Did Tom kill the man?

If Tom was the killer of his own attacker, this could only mean something big for the character when "The Blacklist" season four arrives. Many will not notice but Tom is much calmer and probably not as tough as Red is. But in killing someone who tries to keep him away from his family - that is legit.

Tom is known for his love for Liz (Megan Boone) and Baby Agnes. And in fighting back and eventually killing the person who is trying to keep him from saving Liz from Kirk's (Ulric Thomsen) hold, it only means that Tom is now a stronger and much braver character. Events and certain situations change people. This is especially true for Tom, who has been dreaming from the start of a peaceful life with Liz and their daughter.

Meanwhile, the clip also revealed that Red will continue his search for Liz. Fans can only hope that he stumbles upon Tom soon so they can both work out a plan to rescue Liz.

As for the truth about Red's true relationship with Liz, Boone teased that there will be some revelations in the upcoming installment. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, she said, "That's what it looks like to me. What it's starting to look like is we are really delving into Liz's past and exposing a lot of things that have been withheld throughout the series."

Just who Esteban is and how he will be able to help track down Liz will be revealed when "The Blacklist" season four premieres Sept. 22 on NBC.

Below is a clip that's similar to the teaser that Spader unveiled on the "Tonight Show."
