As fans continue to wonder what has happened to the well-loved franchise that brought life to various creatures, new updates have recently emerged about "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair."

Since June of last year, there has been no official statement released about the upcoming movie. However, in an interview with Collider earlier last month, producer Mark Gordon gave some details about the movie's development.

When "The Silver Chair" was announced, fans speculated that it is a follow-up to the "Narnia" series that children and adults alike loved. However, Gordon said it is a reboot of the franchise that slowly eased away from the public. When asked about the original cast and their involvement in the film, Gordon gave an answer that might disappoint some fans.

"No, it's all going to be a brand new franchise. All original. All original characters, different directors, and an entire new team that this is coming from," he dished. While his statement could be confusing as some might think there will be characters outside of the franchise, Gordon clarified that the new characters will all be derived "from the world" of Narnia that readers of the book know very well.

Due to Gordon's statements, some fans started believing that Liam Neeson, who was Aslan's voice actor, won't return to reprise his role. Fans loved his hearing his deep voice and the news didn't come as expected.

Aside from Neeson, it is also believed that the rest of the actors and actresses won't be in the film since Gordon himself said everything will be new.

Meanwhile, Douglas Gresham, C.S. Lewis stepson and co-producer of the movie, gave some details about a new character that will be featured in the upcoming film. "The character I am most excited about filming in The Silver Chair...has to be Puddlegum," he told Narnia Web.

Gresham explained that Puddlegum is a marsh wiggle, who is an original species that fans have to look forward to. Lewis described Puddlegum as a creature with a sharp nose who sports a high and pointed hat.

Other characters have yet to be revealed and Puddlegum is just one of the amazing characters that will be introduced to moviegoers who haven't read the books.

There is no official release date announced yet for "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair."
