Fans of Marvel's "The Defenders" will have to wait a few months for its premiere on Netflix. But its details have recently been divulged, teasing fans what they need to know about the series.

Entertainment Weekly was able to get the latest details on the upcoming show, as well as the lead stars' opinions about their characters. "The Defenders" is a group of superheroes composed of the blind vigilante Daredevil (Charlie Cox), the superhuman Jessica Jones (Kristen Ritter), the mystical martial artist Iron Fist (Finn Jones), and the power man Luke Cage (Mike Colter). The team aims to protect New York City from forces that are too powerful for any regular human.

When asked about writing the continuity of the character arcs and about where the setting of "The Defenders" fits in the timeline of each standalone show, executive producer Marco Ramirez said, "we were basically telling a version of Daredevil season 2.5, a Luke Cage season 1.5, a Jessica Jones1.5, and Iron Fist1.5, so it felt like we had to tell the story that came after their immediate seasons and before their next ones."

Writers for the show had to collaborate and check in with the writers of the individual series to prevent story arcs and emotional arcs from repeating. Ramirez revealed that they had drafted a car chase for the show, but was flagged down because another show had already come up with a rather similar scene.

Joining the cast of "The Defenders" is Sigourney Weaver who will be portraying the villain Alexandra. Ramirez couldn't say a lot about Weaver's villainous character, but he did describe her as a powerful force in New York City.

Rosario Dawson, who portrayed Daredevil's personal nurse Claire Temple in the standalone show, will be reprising her role. It seems like viewers can expect to see Claire getting comfortable with Luke. As what Colter teased, it starts with them grabbing coffee together, and perhaps things will blossom from there.

"The Defenders" premieres on Netflix this summer.
