Recently, more news about the next game in the Elder Scrolls franchise, "The Elder Scrolls 6," was made public and it brought some cheer for gamers. Most importantly, however, as part of the news, it was revealed that the next game will not be releasing anytime soon.

Reporting on the news about "The Elder Scrolls 6," Neurogadget states that on the whole, it is good as it is clear the game is in development, even though there is bad news mixed in. It points out that information about the sequel was provided by Todd Howard, who works as game director at Bethesda. Howard stated during the recently concluded E3 2016 that the game "The Elder Scrolls 6" was in the works. More importantly, he went on to state that since Bethesda has other important projects underway, its plate is full and it does not have time to devote to "The Elder Scrolls 6" right now.

Howard, when quizzed about the release date of "The Elder Scrolls 6," indicated that because of their work schedule, it will only arrive a long way ahead in the future. The game director also outlined that they were not going to rush its development to satisfy the clamor of fans and were going to take time to ensure that they deliver a good quality gaming experience.

This means that there is no chance that "The Elder Scrolls 6" will be arriving this year. Also, as Howard was speaking during the interview with Geoff Keighley, he outlined that if he explained what they wanted to do with "The Elder Scrolls 6," many gamers would have more questions about the technology. Gamers would also be quick to point out that the technology needed for such a "The Elder Scrolls 6" game does not exist currently.

As for the other projects that Bethesda is working on, they are a mystery for now and Howard did not provide any details about them during E3 2016. However, The Express states that Bethesda might just surprise everyone by announcing "The Elder Scrolls 6" suddenly just as it did with "Fallout 4" last year.
