'The Elder Scrolls 6' rumors: Fans will be waiting a long time for the highly anticipated sequel

(Bethesda)'The Elder Scrolls 6' is not expected to show up anytime soon

If it seems as though very little is still currently known about Bethesda's eagerly anticipated game "The Elder Scrolls 6," there's a good reason for that.

Even though fans have been clamoring for the game to finally be announced these past few years, Bethesda has indicated that it is not coming out soon, even going so far as to make it very clear that the game isn't even being developed yet, at least according to an earlier tweet from Bethesda vice president for PR and marketing Pete Hines.

That's not all, as Hines has also previously indicated that the coveted sequel is not even set to make its official debut for at least the next few years.

During an earlier interview with GameStar that took place at Gamescom, Hines indicated that the formal announcement of "The Elder Scrolls 6" won't be made anytime soon.

Specifically, Hines stated that the game will not be revealed either at Gamescom 2017 or even during the 2018 edition of the event.

The comments made by Hines are clear indicators that the game isn't due out soon, which really shouldn't be all that surprising.

If the sequel is not even being developed yet at this point, then the chances of it being announced within the next couple of years are about next to zero.

"The Elder Scrolls 6" will be a major undertaking for the folks over at Bethesda, so it will likely necessitate a lengthy development cycle.

Still, it's not that surprising that fans are already looking for the sequel, especially since "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" was initially released nearly five years ago.

For now though, all that fans can really do is to shift their focus to other upcoming titles, as they wait for that eagerly anticipated announcement from Bethesda.

More details about "The Elder Scrolls 6" should be made available in the future.
