"The Flash" season two will be speeding back into TV screens in a few short weeks. And if the news that has been coming out of the set is anything to go by, fans will surely have a lot of things to look forward to, starting with the fact that Tony Todd will be lending his voice to Zoom.

Variety has exclusively revealed that the "Candyman" star has been tapped to voice Flash's nemesis, Zoom. The move was brought about by executive producer Andrew Kreisberg's desire to do something Darth Vader-esque, where you have "this iconic voice coming out of this mask" but have no idea who is underneath the suit.

During season one, the production team of "The Flash" simply modulated Tom Cavanagh's voice for Reverse-Flash, but that apparently wouldn't fly this time around.

"Last year, we thought of the Reverse-Flash as a speed warrior," Kreisberg explains. "This year, Zoom is like a speed demon, and no one does demon-voice better than Tony Todd."

Viewers might be wondering why there is so much importance being placed on the character's voice at this point. Based on the showrunner's explanation, fans will not be seeing who or what is underneath the costume — not yet anyway. Kreisberg also added that Zoom's costume is "more organic than the Reverse Flash suit" so it's hard to tell if the suit is an inanimate object, a robot or a sentient presence.

Luckily, Todd has more than enough experience using his voice to bring DC characters to life. The 60-year-old character actor was the voice of DC's villain, Darkseid, in the video game "Lego DC Comics Superheroes" as well as the voice of Aseroth on "Batman: The Brave and the Bold."

Aside from Todd, fans will also be seeing Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick, who's also known as the Original Flash, Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West, Casper Crump as Vandal Savage and Falk Hentschel as Hawkman. The latter two will be appearing on crossover episodes of "Arrow" and "The Flash" before moving to more permanent roles in the spinoff, DC's "Legends of Tomorrow."

Season two of "The Flash" is slated to be back on The CW on Oct. 6.
