Season one finale of "The Flash" was mind-boggling, to say the least. Fans watched as Eddie, who many thought would become a villain like his distant relative, killed himself in order to obliterate Eobard Thawne aka Reverse Flash. Since they are relatives, Eddie's non-existence automatically translated to Eobard's non-existence. Stunned fans mourned the loss of a dear friend and wonderful human being. The show left Iris, Barry Allen and the others in a state of grief.

What will season two bring to the table? In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed that actor Tom Cavanagh, who essayed the role of Eobard and Reverse Flash, will return to the show as a series regular. This is baffling, to say the least, since the main antagonist had died in the finale. It could be that Barry aka The Flash travels back in time in order to bring back the real Harrison Wells.

Another hint dropped by Kreisberg suggests that this may not be the end of Eddie's character. The executive producer said, "The great thing with our show is just because you are dead doesn't mean you're not coming back. Especially in the world of The Flash, which involves time travel and real hardcore science fiction, there's always a way for Eddie to return, and we hope Rick (the actor who plays Eddie) will."

Indeed, if Eddie is back, it will definitely shock fans and be a large part of season two's story. Season two will also delve deeper into the time-travel storyline with parallel timelines. Den Of Geek reports that the show will have multiple timelines moving forward. Different dimensions and the introduction of multiverse in the plot is sure to set the stage for an exciting season two.

No date has been set for the premiere of season two of "The Flash".
