'The Good Wife' season 7 spoilers: Mathew Goode exits; Will Alicia partner with Louis Canning?

"The Good Wife" ended with an explosive season six that saw Alicia Florrick finally having a conversation and two tequilas with Kalinda Sharma, before Archie Panjabi's character exited the show for good. With Kalinda out, Alicia jobless and Peter running for vice-president, what can fans expect in season seven?

Some viewers may be disappointed to discover that actor Mathew Goode, who essays the role of Finn Polmar, an attorney and Alicia's love interest, has exited the show with Panjabi. TVLine reports that Goode will not reprise his role in the upcoming season, but could make a guest appearance or two on the show. The actor was a series regular in season six and many fans saw him as a potential lover for Alicia, until he turned down her offer to become a partner at her nascent law firm in the finale. Goode can still be seen on the small screen in season six of "Downton Abbey" airing on PBS in 2016. He plays the role of Henry Talbot.

At the end of season six, fans also saw Florrick being visited by Louis Canning at her doorstep and asking her "Wanna partner?" While the two have been enemies for six seasons, Alicia's current unemployment status may make her desperate enough to work for him. Will she say yes or will she find another partner? This still remains to be seen and the answer can be found in the premiere episode of season seven. However, working with Canning could hamper Alicia's relationship with Cary and Diane.

Speaking of Cary, the character will be dealing with Kalinda's exit in season seven. Sharma left without giving her boyfriend closure and this is sure to affect Cary in a significant way. Speaking to HuffPost Live, Matt Czuchry, who plays his role, said "Cary and Kalinda have had a strong friendship over 100-plus episodes, so that lack of closure is going to come into play in season 7... it'd be interesting to see him to muddle through another relationship because he didn't get closure with Kalinda."

Season seven of "The Good Wife" is yet to receive a premiere date.
