'The Incredibles 2' release reported to be in 2017 or 2018; plot takes place 10 years after first movie

It has taken more than a decade for Pixar to come up with the sequel to their 2004 smash hit, "The Incredibles." But it seems that the studio is finally making good on its promise to fans and will be releasing "The Incredibles 2" in 2017 or 2018.

"The Incredibles" director, Brad Bird, had previously promised fans that he will be focusing on the superhero family once "Tomorrowland" hits theaters. And with the George Clooney flick already over and done with, fans have begun their countdown to "The Incredibles'" release.

There have been reports that the superhero family will be dealing with their old nemesis, Syndrome, once again. Everyone automatically assumed that the nefarious usurper of super powers met his demise when his cape caught on the plane's turbines, but it seems that he has more tricks up his sleeve.

A rumor that fans are hoping carries some truth pegs the youngest of the Parrs as the villain. The sequel is said to be set 10 or 11 years in the future, with the superhero siblings taking on their parents' superhero mantle. But Jack-Jack apparently cannot control his powers, leaving him vulnerable to Syndrome's manipulation. The film's resident villain then takes advantage of the frustration and anger the teenager feels and turns him against his family.

Samuel L. Jackson inadvertently acknowledged the rumor when he allegedly mentioned during an interview that he is "looking forward to what Jack-jack turned into." The actor, who lent his voice to Frozone, is said to be coming back to reprise his role in the sequel.

While no particular date has been given for the sequel's release, Pixar has allegedly saved Nov. 22, 2017, and June 15, 2018, as dates for the launch of its upcoming movies. Fans are now hoping that "The Incredibles 2" will be launched on one of those dates and have already marked their calendars accordingly.
