'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' release date, new details: Latest trailers focus on exploration and weather system

(The Legend of Zelda website)The upcoming game "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be released in 2017 and will be playable in both Wii U and Nintendo Switch consoles.

A new bunch of trailers was released for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," and it is enough for viewers to be still excited for the upcoming game. The three new promotional clips focus on different details that will be part of the latest installment of the franchise.

Based on a report from Polygon, the first trailer showcased the day-to-night cycle of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." It showed how detailed the scenery is even as the weather continually changes. It started with a normal climate that seems to be warm. It then shifted gradually to a scene with dark clouds and lightning bolts. After that, it went back to having normal weather where everything is calm and safe.

During the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) back in June, Nintendo also showed a clip on how the day-to-night cycle works. It was a pretty lengthy video and it only focused on the main character, Link, who was observing the landscape of Hyrule on a cliff. It was highlighted that the whole day-to-night cycle takes up to less than 24 minutes. This implies that every minute in the game is like an hour in real time.

As for the next gameplay video, it boasted the exploration of Hyrule. There were a lot of landscapes that were shown in this clip, such as Link stumbling upon cathedral ruins. Some moments also showed Link just climbing trees, jumping into lakes and even sailing with a raft. This indicates that the character can almost freely do anything. At one point, Link was also seen paragliding.

Meanwhile, the last trailer focused more on how Link uses different weapons in order to deal with enemies. There are times where he utilizes a bow in order to take down opponents from afar. He also uses a club if he wants to smash them through close combat.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" has no exact release date yet, but it is expected to arrive for the Wii U and Nintendo Switch consoles in 2017.
