'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' gameplay update: New video clip demonstrates use of weapons

(Facebook/Nintendo)"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is an open-world action and adventure game that will give players more movement and flexibility.

More and more dynamics of the open-world game "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" are being revealed as preparation for its 2017 release. Recently uploaded videos demonstrate how the lead character, Link, uses some of the weapons and runes.

The demo shows Link with his sword, shield, and bow and arrow. Players are already familiar with how skilled Link is with his sword and the many ways he could use it in battle. Another scene shows him picking up an axe from behind a barrel. In nighttime mode, he is seen taking an arm off an enemy skeleton and using it against its own kind. He is also seen with what looks like a stick that has the ability to throw balls of fire to the targets.

Another video showing runes and how they can help Link was also uploaded. When crossing water, Link can freeze water into blocks of varying sizes to use as stepping blocks to reach his destination. There is also a giant magnet that may be activated to pull chests right out the water. When there seems to be too many enemies to battle with at the same time, a big ball that blasts may be used. There's one barrel that contains toxic material that may be aimed at a target destination and blasts off everyone in the way.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" promises to be a boundary-breaking game that is an evolution of the previous "The Legend of Zelda" installments. Aside from freedom in movement and open-world exploration, the game has 100 Shrines of Trials and many outfits to choose from.

The game will be released on March 2017 for WiiU consoles, but it will also be one of the first games to be compatible with the upcoming Nintendo NX console.
