As "The Mentalist" draws to a close with its last season, avid viewers of the crime and mystery series really hope that this season will be packed with its fair share of twists and unexpected surprises. If the synopsis of the upcoming episodes are to be believed, it seemed that "The Mentalists" fans will be hooked to the screen on Wednesdays.

Episode nine titled "Copper Bullet" will see Abbott's (Rockmond Dunbar) career being threatened by his old boss Agent Peterson. Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) will devise a very risky plan to save and protect Abbott's future, according to Hollywood Hills. Well, it seems that viewers can definitely look forward to this episode with its intriguing storyline.

While the ninth episode seems promising, fans can also brace themselves for an action-packed tenth episode, titled "Nothing Gold Can Stay". Unreality TV reports that Jane will take extreme measures to capture a gang of armored car robbers who are extremely dangerous. It will be a tense episode as the clock runs and innocent lives are at stake before the gang tries to free itself from the clutches of the authorities.

But fans really want to know how the season is set to end with only a few more episodes in store for viewers before "The Mentalist" wraps up for good. Rockmond Dunbar recently gave an interview to Hollywood Reporter saying that, "Everything sort of ties up into a nice bow, but it's really loose. It's one of those things where like, 'Wait a minute, The Mentalist could come back.' Of course, I doubt that it will, but there's definitely that glimmer of hope for some of the fans and for myself as well."

Additionally, many fans are speculating the reason why Jane continues to wear his wedding ring from his first marriage when he now has a future with Lisbon (Robin Tunney). In an interview with TVLine, executive producer Tom Szentgyorgyi teased that, "The ring is obviously hugely important to Jane. It will be addressed, but we can't give away how."

Episode nine and 10 will air on Jan. 28 and Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. central time on CBS.
