"The Originals" is winding down its second season and is doing so with a deliciously complicated story arc. Episode 18 saw the debut of Dahlia, an extremely powerful and determined witch here to take what's hers. In this instance, it is baby Hope.

Dahlia is no piece of cake as she terrorizes New Orleans. As per TVGuide's official episode description, the evil witch gives Klaus and Hayley a deadline for turning in baby Hope. Fans of the werewolf-centered TV series know that Dahlia made a pact with her sister Esther to give her the firstborn child of every generation of her family in exchange to be fertile. Dahlia has now come to collect what was promised to her by Esther. Freya was the first victim of the exchange.

CaterMatt reports that Elijah attempts to cajole Klaus that they must work together in order to bring down their common enemy and save Hope from her evil Aunt's clutches. However, an erratic Klaus forges ahead with a dangerous plan and everyone is concerned about his next steps.

Hayley realizes that they have a very slim chance of winning against Dahlia so she devises a plan using Aiden's help. But the plan may be dangerous and can end up with her being killed. Fans may also recall that Jackson offered her an option to flee the city with him and move into the bayou. Is that the plan she is thinking of or something else entirely?

Meanwhile, Freya gives Elijah and Rebekah an ultimatum that could lead to sibling war. Marcel strategizes how best to deal with his mentor's unpredictable behavior. The main issue in the Mikaelson family now is between Klaus and Freya. Klaus killed his adopted and abusive father, Mikael, in order to defeat Dahlia. How will the siblings work together when Freya watched her father's death right in front of her eyes? It was no secret that she was Mikael's favorite daughter.

Can the Mikaelson clan unite despite their differences to protect the tiny toddler? Can they save baby Hope? Find out as "When the Levee Breaks" airs on Monday, April 20 at 8 p.m. ET on CW.
