'The Originals' season 4 spoilers, premiere: Summer Fontana joins cast as Hope; new villain unknown

(Facebook/cworiginals)"The Originals" season 4 will feature a five-year time jump.

When "The Originals" returns to The CW, fans are going to see a 7-year-old Hope — thanks to the five-year time jump. Julie Plec previously said that final casting has not been made yet, but a new report now reveals that the young hybrid will be played by actress Summer Fontana.

TVLine has exclusively learned that Fontana will be bringing the now-older Hope to life. When season 4 begins, Klaus will not be able to identify his daughter, mainly because he was not there during the five years that she grew up. However, as previously reported, Klaus was only doing what he thought best for his loved ones.

"I think he'll be nervous to meet her," Joseph Morgan, who plays Klaus, said. As for what Hope will be like, it is believed that she will be very powerful and have a little of both sides to her. It remains to be seen how Hope will react to seeing her father after a long time, but here's hoping Klaus gets a very warm welcome.

Plot-wise, the new season will begin with Hayley on a quest to bring back Elijah, Kol, Rebekah, and Freya. The journey will be a difficult one, for sure, but should she pull it off, there may be a Mikaelson reunion on the horizon. It will also be a different town from five years ago.

But it won't be all unicorns and rainbows come season 4. There will, of course, be a new villain. How challenging and menacing this new antagonist will be is yet unknown. However, things are surely going to be kicked up a notch.

As for Marcel, a particularly attractive woman will be working for him and that might open doors for him, romantically speaking. When the show returns, Marcel will have also found peace with Vincent, at least for the time being.

"The Originals" season 4 will premiere in 2017 on The CW.
