'The Originals' season 4 rumors: Klaus' salvation lies in Hope, not Caroline

(Facebook/The Originals)Rumors claim that Klaus' salvation in "The Originals" season 4 lies in his daughter's hands, Hope.

With last week's episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 featuring Caroline (Candice King) accepting Stefan's (Paul Wesley) wedding proposal, many fans now believe that it is unlikely for the former to save Klaus (Joseph Morgan) in "The Originals" season 4. Hence, it is once again speculated that it is no less than Hope (Summer Fontana) who can save her own father from the ordeal that he's currently in when "The Originals" season 4 begins airing next year.

Prior to last week's episode of "The Vampire Diaries," there were rumors claiming that Klaus' redemption from the curse that he has been put through in the season 3 finale of "The Originals" depended on Caroline of "The Vampire Diaries." After all, with "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 being the last for the series, it was believed that King's Caroline would cross over "The Originals,"  "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off series, and be reunited with Morgan's Klaus to save him. After all, prior to Klaus' departure from "The Vampire Diaries" to star on "The Originals," his romantic team-up with Caroline was a hit to "The Vampire Diaries" fans.

However, as last week's episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 featured Stefan proposing to Caroline, which the latter eventually accepted, it seems that there is no more chance for Klaus and Caroline to be together once more. Hence, Klaus' salvation is rumored once again to be in the hands of his own daughter with Hayley (Phoebe Tonkins), Hope.

It has already been announced that the upcoming season 4 of "The Originals" would feature a five-year time jump. This means that, when the series returns, Hope will already have grown into a five-year old girl from being a baby in the previous season. As Hope is the only character from the series who has the combined powers of a witch, vampire, and a werewolf, there is a big possibility that Klaus' salvation is in her hands, indeed.

"This is a girl who has no real memories of her father, so we'll be able to see what Hayley has done, if anything, to keep her aware of her father, who he is, and what the truth is about her life. We'll see a young girl and see where she is with her own abilities. We'll get to see father and daughter eventually reunited, two strangers coming together with so much in common. There's some really special moments between them," says "The Originals" executive producer Julie Plec in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Although there is no specific date yet, "The Originals" is expected to return to The CW for its season 4 early 2017.
