From when the Mikaelsons were introduced in the parent series, "The Vampire Diaries," viewers were already made aware of the siblings' love-and-hate relationship. The brood has faced many major trials in the previous season of "The Originals" and, while the finale saw them unite once more, fans of the show are speculating on how their relationship will be in season 4.

In order for all of them to stay alive, Freya (Riley Voelkel) created a potion to put herself and the rest of the siblings in deep sleep, while their lives are anchored on Klaus (Joseph Morgan). Klaus, on the other hand, allowed himself to be struck with the infamous Papa Tunde's blade so he remains alive while suffering a fate described to be worse than death itself.

They are expected to rise again in season 4, but whether or not they will continue to fight among themselves is being speculated by the viewers. Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) has yet to forgive his siblings for sacrificing his love interest Davina (Danielle Campbell). Rebekah (Claire Holt), on the other hand, found herself doing things for her siblings again after they put her in forced hibernation.

Viewers are also debating whether or not Klaus and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) will be able to forgive each other after the events in season 3. While it was Marcel who caused the Mikaelsons' fall, the arrival of an enemy is also believed to make him decide to help Klaus.

A five-year time jump will be featured between season 4 finale and the premiere of the upcoming season. The grown-up Hope is speculated to display her powers, but how she uses them is another thing fans should look forward to.

Meanwhile, during Holt's visit to Manila to attend the Asia POP Comic-Con, she said she hopes her character would find peace with her family and that after the events that occurred "I'd like to see Rebekah and her family back together and have a team."

"The Originals" season 4 is scheduled to premiere in the first quarter of 2017 on The CW network.
