Hope (Summer Fontana) may turn out to be even more monstrous than her father in the upcoming season of "The Originals."

It is going to be a long wait for the fans of the CW series. Although its sister show, "The Vampire Diaries," has already premiered its latest season, "The Originals" is slated for a 2017 release. Teasers have been few and far between. Aside from what has been shown in the promo, viewers do not know what will happen to Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and his family. The hybrid is still waiting for someone to get him out of the tomb where Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) buried him. Because of the Tunde Blade embedded in his chest, he cannot move.

The rest of the Mikaelsons are also in trouble. They would have died had Freya (Riley Voelkel) not transported their souls to the alternate world. Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) and even Rebekah (Claire Holt) cannot get out of the other dimension. Only Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Hope are left, but they are outmatched by Marcel's powers. It will take five long years before something huge will happen to shake up the current situation. By that time, Hope has already grown up and is extremely curious about her father.

Conceived by Hayley, who is a werewolf, and Klaus, a hybrid, Hope is considered to be a wild card in the new installment. Tonkin already teased that Hope bears a huge resemblance to her father, and not just physically. She will certainly be a witch, just like her ancestors before they became vampires. If Hope turns out to be a junior version of Klaus, viewers can expect a lot from her when it comes to getting revenge. She may be wanting to take down the person who has made her family suffer all these years.

"I'm excited to see what kind of personality this little girl has. Even though she hasn't been around her dad for the last five years, I think there's a lot of Klaus in her — good or bad — and I'm excited to see that in this little powerful witch," Tonkin said in an interview with TVLine.

"The Originals" season 4 is expected to return midseason 2017.
