The second season of "The Seven Deadly Sins" has been announced for a 2016 release. But according to recent reports, writer Nakaba Suzuki has not yet completed the storyline, which means fans might have to wait until 2017 to see the second part of the hit manga series.

According to Counsel and Heal News, rumor has it that Suzuki still has a few chapters to work on and even if the second installment of the franchise hits small screens this year, the English-dubbed version might not be out until later in 2017.

A short teaser for the upcoming season reveals that production has been given the green light. However, there are no other details given and fans are starting to doubt if the series will indeed return this year.

Meanwhile, Yibada reports that new enemies will attack from the Demon Clan and a new antagonist group by the name Ten Commandments will also be introduced. While Meliodas technically defeated his foes in the first season's finale, spoilers reveal that the full-blown victory will only be experienced when the second story arc comes out.

It is also expected that more action scenes will be depicted in the new installment. Some sequences will also be focused on the rest of the characters who weren't able to get a big chunk of the spotlight in the previous arc. It is said that Ban will embark on a journey for the purpose of resurrecting the love of his life who passed away earlier.

If Ban's storyline is given the chance to shine, it can be safe to assume that the upcoming season will largely follow the stories written by Suzuki in the manga version.

It was also reported earlier this year by Inquisitr that Escanor, the Lion's Sin of Pride, will finally crash into television. While Escanor's entry could pose a threat to Meliodas, it is expected that Meliodas and the protagonist team will somehow claim victory in the end.

"The Seven Deadly Sin" season two is rumored to release sometime in 2016.
