'The Sims 4' new features: Learn more about the careers set to be added via the 'City Living' expansion

(The Sims official website)'The Sims 4's' 'City Living' expansion will provide players with an opportunity to become a food critic

The new apartments and festivals may be the most eye-catching additions coming to "The Sims 4" via the "City Living" expansion, though players may want to keep in mind that there are also some new careers that could be worth checking out.

Upon making it to the city of San Myshuno, players can take up career opportunities in the fields of critiquing, politics and social media.

In a recent post on the game's official website, developers revealed that these new career paths also feature Career Assignments. Career Assignments serve to differentiate these new jobs a bit as they will call on players to also take on tasks out in the field as opposed to just requiring them to stay inside their offices.

There are also some additional features unique to these new careers.

For instance, players who opt to become critics will be given the opportunity to focus on different fields including food and art. Players can even travel all around the city of San Myshuno in search of interesting dishes to try or works of art to critique.

For those "Sims 4" players who decide to pursue a career in politics, their paths can branch out in two different directions, as they can decide to become either a full-fledged politician or attempt to influence change as a charity organizer.

Notably, over the course of a recent Twitch stream during which developers talked about the new features that will be added via the "City Living" expansion, it was revealed that new political and cultural television channels will be introduced, iDigitalTimes reported.

Perhaps these new TV channels will be helpful to "The Sims 4" players aspiring to become politicians or critics.

Lastly, players can also try to become a social media specialist, and this particular career will require them to accumulate plenty of followers by engaging more people in and around the city of San Myshuno.

"The Sims 4" players will be able to try out these new careers for themselves as soon as the "City Living" expansion is released on Nov. 1.
