With only three episodes left in the season, Damon and his friends are racing against time in order to save Bonnie. But will the last Bennet witch survive?

The previous episode saw a reunion of sorts for former best friends Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) and ex-lovers Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola-King). While the erstwhile Steroline's relationship was frosty, Bonnie and Damon's was contentious and tense.

Whatever their differences are, Damon, Stefan, and the others are willing to do whatever it takes to save Bonnie. In episode 20, Damon and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) will spearhead efforts to save the witch before she becomes worse, while Stefan and Matt (Zach Roerig) are reluctant teammates. This yields unexpected results for Stefan as he finally learns the reason behind Matt's anger. Meanwhile, a determined Caroline joins Alaric (Matt Davis) on a mission and realizes that she misses the supernatural life. When their mission encounters an unforeseen complication, Damon will make a choice that will alter his friendship with Bonnie for all eternity.

What Damon will decide to do is unclear, but a clip for the upcoming episode, titled "Kill 'Em All," shows what Bonnie is determined to do. The trailer begins with a shot of a massive, ornate door. Someone can be seen approaching with a lantern. A woman from the asylum later tells Bonnie that whatever is inside that vault wants out. Viewers are given a quick glimpse of a woman that looks to be slowly decomposing. The emaciated body has eyes that are sunken in, chapped lips, and brittle and dry hair.

The trailer also shows a woman jumping over a fence and Stefan telling someone on the phone that a certain person is next on his hit list. The clip ends with a wide-eyed Damon asking Bonnie what she just did. As Rayna (Leslie-Anne Huff) is seen shouting for the others to "run," Bonnie replies that she kept her promise that no one will be getting out.

Fans have been speculating how Bonnie's fate will play out, especially since Graham had long revealed that season 8 will be her last with the show. Some fans have theorized that the character will be killed off, while others say she might just leave Mystic Falls. What's clear is that fans will be getting answers in the next three episodes.

Episode 20 of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 is set to be aired on Apr. 29, Friday, at 8 p.m. on The CW.
