According to spoiler reports, a character that was seen in the first season of The Walking Dead will make a huge comeback in the second half of season 5.

After Beth's shocking death in the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead, fans cannot wait what awaits Rick and the rest of the surviving members of the group on the second half of season 5. For now, it is said that a character who was previously seen in the first seasons will return. Morgan Jones (Lennie James), the first person Rick saw after waking from his coma, will return in season 5B, though the purpose of his comeback is not yet known.

Morgan, aside from Rick and Cark, is the sole character that had a recurring role in the AMC series since its first season. In the comics, Morgan's wife who turned into a walker bit their son, Duane. Morgan couldn't let himself kill his own son so he chained his zombie son inside the house they used to stay at. Morgan feeds his zombie son dogs and looters, or anyone who stands in his way.

In the AMC television adaptation of The Walking Dead, Morgan was again seen in the third season. In the episode, Rick, Michonne and Carl went back to Rick's hometown in search of supplies and was trapped in one of Morgan's makeshift booby traps. Morgan showed weakness of mental health and was seemingly lost and confused. Morgan then tells Rick that he had to kill his own son after he turned (which was a different turn of events from the comic book).

Rick, Michonne, and Carl left Morgan in his home at the end of the episode, and Rick instantly thought that he wouldn't make it alive. Though at the beginning of season 5, Morgan is seen following Rick and ha seemed to have his sanity back. Morgan had a very important role in the series, since it was him who taught Rick how to kill walkers.
