CD Projekt Red, the developer of the highly acclaimed open-world game, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," recently updated fans regarding the first major expansion dubbed "Hearts of Stone."

During the panel of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" at PAX Prime, CD Projekt Red translator and writer, Travis Currit, officially updated the fans about the status of "Hearts of Stone," the first of the two major expansions for the IP.

According to Dual Shockers, Currit announced that "Heart of Stones" is "almost ready, and shaping up really nicely."

In a report by Ecumenical News last July, game director, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, shared a few details for the upcoming expansions and said that "Hearts of Stone" is expected to run over 10 hours of gameplay. In terms of file size, Tomaszkiewicz revealed that the two contents, when combined, are going to be massive. In fact, they might even have the same file size as the previous installment in the franchise.

This is not the only news that CD Projekt Red revealed at PAX Prime. Dual Shockers also asked Currit about the possibility of a standalone game version of the in-game collectible feature card game, Gwent, and if the developer will ever release it.

Currit answered that, "he'd pass that request to the development team, but then he teased that there are "good news" coming for those who love Gwent."

The expansion will feature a new area and location, which are "No Man's Land" and Oxenfurt, respectively. Aside from a new map, "Hearts of Stone" will also have new playable quests, which will come from the "mysterious Man of Glass," as GameSpot reported.

As for the release date of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" expansion, "Hearts of Stone," fans can expect the paid DLC to be launched this coming October. However, a specific date has yet to be announced.
