It might take awhile before George R.R. Martin completes 'Winds of Water', the sixth novel of his 'A Song of Ice and Fire' fantasy book series, but sales of his last book continues to soar.

Already ranked at the top of several categories due to pre-orders submitted via Amazon, 'The World of Ice and Fire' is the latest literary gem to come out of Martin's orbit.

Co-authored by Linda Antonsson and Elio M. Garcia, the book entitled 'The Untold History of Westeros and the Game of Thrones' is summoning attention from the hit television show, 'Game of Thrones'.

This book is expected to reveal mysterious details about the lives of the primary characters of the show and the secrets of their homeland.

Anticipated to be a one-of-a-kind coffee table book, 'The World of Ice and Fire' contains maps, illustrations, and impeccable artwork. It also features full family trees of Houses Stark, Targaryen and Lannister.

The book also highlights in-depth discussions about the diverse cultures in other regions of Essos and Westeros.

An excerpt from the book that has been released tells the story of how Targaryen departed from Valyria located in Essos, from the Westerosi island of Dragonstone, to escape the disaster (The Doom) that destroyed Valyria.

Other parts of the book describe epic battles tackled by the famous heroes, and their journey before becoming important figures in the Game of Thrones series.
