"The Incredibles" is considered as one of the first superhero movies of this generation, having been released in 2004. More than 10 years later, the cinematic landscape has changed dramatically with superhero-themed movies dominating cinemas nowadays.

When "The Incredibles 2" arrives in cinemas in 2019, viewers should expect to see something different. The upcoming sequel will focus more on the family and relationships, rather than the superhero aspect.

According to director Brad Bird, "the interesting thing was never the superhero part of it. It was more of the family dynamic, and how do superhero things play into that."

While plot details remain scarce, there have been reports that Bird has already completed the script and has started boarding parts of the story. Though the sequel will be released 15 years after the original, recent reports speculate that there will only be a six-year time jump in the story.

According to Breathecast, Jack-Jack will play a central role in the upcoming sequel. By this time, the youngest member of the Parr family will already be six years old.

In "The Incredibles," viewers barely got to see Jack-Jack. While the Parr family went on an adventure, Jack-Jack was stuck at home in the care of babysitter Kari. It was only at the end of the movie that his powers were unleashed. His powers were further explored in the 2005 animation short "Jack-Jack Attack."

Jack-Jack's powers include levitation, invisibility, super strength, super speed, teleportation, laser vision, shape shifting and the ability to become a human fireball and a monster.

It seems that it will be crucial to guide Jack-Jack in order for him to learn to harness his powers responsibly. However, based on speculations, villain Syndrome is said to return and may steer Jack-Jack towards the dark side.

With at least three more years to go until the sequel's release, more spoilers and updates are bound to be revealed in due time.

"The Incredibles 2" will arrive in cinemas on June 21, 2019.
