NBC's comedy drama series, titled "This Is Us," has been renewed for two more seasons.

(Facebook/ NBCThisisUs) "This Is Us" will run for 2 more seasons.

At the Television Critics Association (TCA) winter press tour, NBC revealed that seasons 2 and 3 will have 18 episodes each. Following its successful pilot season, with three Golden Globe nominations and reaching the top of the charts for the new network series of the season, it seems like NBC decided to do a double renewal.

During the announcement, which was made by NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke, she thanked their cast, crew, and partners for the successful season. And she told the press that she believes that "This Is Us" will have a long and successful run. With their style of storytelling, creator Dan Fogelman shared that they have an immense supply of stories.

"In a world where there are literally hundreds of television dramas, we're proud to have one of the very best that is also one of the highest-rated. And a special thanks to our partners at 20th Century Fox Television who supplied us with this incredible show," Salke said.

For the uninitiated, "This Is Us" follows the life of fraternal twins Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Kevin (Justin Hartley) and their adopted brother Randall (Sterling K. Brown). The twins initially started out as a triplet pregnancy, but their third unborn baby brother was stillborn. Since their parents, Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore), prepared for a third child, they decided to adopt one. The show jumps from past stories to the characters' present. So, a heads-up for those who have not seen "This Is Us," the series will jump back and forth from the 80s or the 90s to the lead characters' present-day lives.

Aside from the aforementioned stars, "This Is Us" stars Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan, and Ron Cephas Jones.
