Video gamers are excited about Respawn Entertainment's upcoming video game "Titanfall 2," which will be released this Oct. 28. But before the game launches, the video game developers have another surprise for the fans. The game is scheduled for a multiplayer beta run and details about the test will be announced this month.

According to reports, the schedule for the test will be announced at Gamescom 2016, an annual trade fair for video games. The event will take place in Cologne, Germany, where it usually does. This year, Gamescom will kick off on Aug. 17.

On the official website of "Titanfall 2," the developers announced that the multiplayer technical test will help them assess various aspects of the game as well as its online infrastructure.

Cinemablend believes that the multiplayer beta run for "Titanfall 2" is imperative and that it won't be a mere ploy to boost pre-order sales. According to the report, having a technical test before actually launching the game will give the developers an opportunity to avoid certain hassles.

Lead Programmer for Respawn Entertainment Jon "Slothy" Shiring wrote a blog post on the game's official website saying that the upcoming game will be bigger and better than the previous one.

"Titanfall 2" will still run on Azure, but this time, the game will also run on "other clouds as well as bare metal servers running in datacenters," says Shiring.

The lead programmer said that they are aiming for the "highest possible scalability and reliability, and have low-latency, fast servers." Shiring said that they need to make sure that they will be able to handle all the excited gamers who will come to the launching. Hence, the tech test is necessary.

"Titanfall 2" will be released worldwide on Oct. 28. The game will be available for personal computers, PlayStation 4 consoles, and Xbox One consoles.
