'Titanfall 2' release news: titan classifications to be featured; DLC maps and game modes will be free

(Titanfall 2)"Titanfall 2" will be released on Oct. 28.

Since game developer Respawn Entertainment released the first "Titanfall" back in 2014, gamers' interest in mech-themed games has once again revived with all that action and mechs called titans that literally fall from the sky whenever the screen says "titan ready." The excitement players have experienced from the first installment will be intensified as the award-winning game is back for its second title.

"Titanfall 2" was unveiled over a week ago at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016. Publisher Electronic Arts (EA) and developer Respawn Entertainment made the announcement and fans need not wait that long to grab ahold of the new "Titanfall." Moreover, they also revealed titans are now classified according to their specialties and skills and even the soldiers who pilot them. Hence, players will have to make wise decisions in picking the perfect pair of pilot and titan to secure a solid win.

At the said event, Respawn Entertainment and EA also revealed some of the new titan classifications. The titan classes include Scorch. Its main weapon will be a T-203 Thermite Launcher that shoots incendiary rounds that will surely burn enemy soldiers to a crisp. There's also the titan class Ion that will focus on brute force. A Splitter Rifle will be its primary weapon, which shoots energy rounds that are quite lethal. Furthermore, another classification would be the Ronin that focuses more on speed and its weapon of choice will be a Leadwall Shotgun, which is very powerful at close range, but can only carry very few rounds.

Meanwhile, lead programmer for "Titanfall 2" Jon Shiring mentioned that maps and additional game modes for the upcoming game will be free of charge. Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella also said that the reason for such is that they don't want to divide the players between those who can afford to buy the additional stuff of the game and those who cannot. However, there might be some features in the upcoming downloadable contents that would require additional costs, but it hasn't been finalized yet.

"Titanfall 2" will hit the stores this Oct. 28.
