'Tokyo Ghoul' season 3 release date, rumors: Anime's new season to arrive later this year

(Facebook/Tokyo Ghoul)According to rumors, "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will arrive within the remaining months of 2016.

While Madhouse and FUNimation have yet to announce the official release date of "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3, the latest in the rumor mill is that the anime may actually head back to the small screen before the year ends.

According to rumors, it is likely for the highly requested anime to return for its season 3 run later this year because of the clamor of the fans, much more when it was reported that the manga version of the series made it into Nielsen BookScan's Top 20 list of manga titles for last month. Hence, because of this undeniable popularity, fans have become even more persistent in their demand to have "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 released earlier.

While it is true that various sources claim that it is likely for "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 to air later this year, they are nothing but unconfirmed pieces of information at this point in time and will remain as rumors until confirmed by Madhouse and FUNimation.

Earlier, it was rumored that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 would not air earlier than 2017 as, allegedly, the production was still waiting for the release of the live-action film feature of the manga title, which is slated to arrive in summer next year.

Meanwhile, apart from the rumors claiming that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will be released around the remaining months of 2016, it is also said that the upcoming season of the anime will be, without question, gory as it will feature a lot of bloodshed, including Arima's slashing of his own throat so that he'll die, and Ken Kaneki can declare himself as the One-Eyed King.

It is also said that the anime's season 3 will stick to the story of its manga counterpart, contrary to some earlier reports that it would be a reboot as the fans were disappointed that the season 2 of "Tokyo Ghoul" veered away from the events in its manga origin.

However, again, without any official word, fans should take everything with a grain of salt until Madhouse and FUNimation validate all the rumors associated with the plot and release date of "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3.
