'30 Rock' star Tracy Morgan was the victim of an accident that happened 5 months ago on the New Jersey Turnpike, leaving him seriously injured and a friend deceased.

The limousine that Morgan was in was struck by a Wal-Mart truck driven by Kevin Roper, and the actor suffered from multiple injuries including a broken leg, a broken nose, and serious brain damage.

Morgan's lawyer, Benedict Morelli, spoke to the Associated Press and revealed a disappointing future for Morgan. Morelli said that the comedian is fighting to regain his old self, but the brain injury is making it difficult.

"When you have a traumatic brain injury it takes a very long time to find out how you're going to do and how much you're going to recover," said Morelli in the AP interview.

As far as Morelli's statement goes, it does not seem Morgan is facing a positive outcome with his recovery.

"You just don't know. So that's where he is. He's still fighting and trying to live his life at the same time and trying to get better, and he's just not better. We're hoping and praying to get him back to where he was. But the jury's out," continued the lawyer.

Investigation on the case revealed that Roper was awake for more than 24 hours when the accident happened, and that the truck he was driving was going at 65 miles per hour, 20 miles more than the speed limit.
