'Transformers 5' news: voice actor behind Bumblebee says next movie isn't about Optimus Prime and Cybertron

There has been little to talk about when it comes to the plot of "Transformer 5" but there have been a couple of hints coming from the writers room for the "Transformers" film franchise.

According to Christian Today, Hasbro Vice President and Chief Content Officer Stephen J. Davis said that in a span of three months, the writers for the franchise — which is headed by Akiva Goldsman ("A Beautiful Mind") and includes Robert Kirkman ("The Walking Dead") — have already plotted out the direction of the "Transformers" franchise for the next 10 years.

Deadline has also reported that writers Andrew Barr and Gabriel Ferrarim of "Antman" fame have already been asked to write the animated series of "Transformers."

While Goldsman and the other writers are still mum about the plot of "Transformers 5," Movie News Guide has reported that Mark Ryan, who voiced Bumblebee in the first three movies, has already shut down ongoing speculations that the fifth movie would revolve around Optimus Prime and Cybertron.

Ryan took time to clear the rumors on his Facebook page, saying where the rumors could have started. He wrote:

"I'm totally stunned about the current and false online chatter about TF-5 and comments I did not make! I have never given an official interview regarding TF-5, nor would I even utter the words Unicron or Quintessons! I'm not in a position to! This is all online speculation and hype because I was misquoted from a casual chat with a fan at an event in the UK."

Paramount Pictures has yet to confirm a director and a lead actor for the next installment. Ecumenical News has already reported that there is still no confirmation on Mark Wahlberg returning, and it is not yet clear if director Michael Bay will still be on board for the sequel.

"Transformers 5" is set to be released in 2017.
