'Transformers 5' is rumored to come out in 2016 but currently there is no specific release date for the upcoming film.

With the success of "Transformers 4: Age of Extinction" at the box office, producers are already planning for a follow up. In fact, Transformers 5 was already spotted in a list of upcoming movies recently with a 2016 release date.

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura did not commit to these rumors when he talked to Digital Spy, however, saying they have not decided on the date for the next Transformers as of yet, suggesting it is too early for that. He added, though, that Transformers 5 discussions are not too far away.

Earlier reports revealed Transformers 4 will pilot a new phase of a series, which is a trilogy led by actor Mark Wahlberg. However, there were some issues between director Michael Bay and Paramount Pictures because Bay is working on "Pain & Gain" before doing Transformers 5.

Transformer 4: Age of Extinction hit cinemas on June 27, 2014, becoming a big success among moviegoers, although the movie's reception included some bad reviews from critics because of excessive technical wizardry, lack of strong plot, sensory overload and the human characters are almost into meaningless rendering.

As the alleged second part of the new Transformers movie trilogy, Transformers 5 just deserves to be anticipated as Bay clearly expressed his intentions to keep the film storyline going, until the sixth film.

The modern Transformers movies is part of an American sci-fi about robots which first hit theaters in 2007 and received wide acclaim among fans of the science fiction genre.

The second film "Revenge of the Fallen" followed in 2009, then "Dark of the Moon" in 2011.

With the alleged pilot of the Transformers trilogy already out this year, Transformers followers are delighted to have at least two more films coming up, including the possible Transformers 5 release in 2016.
