'Transformers 5' movie update: Bumblebee gets a new look for his vehicle form

(Facebook/Transformers)Bumblebee will have an updated vehicle look in "Transformers 5."

Bumblebee is getting a makeover, again, at least as far as his vehicle form is concerned. This piece of news is confirmed by "Transformers" director himself, Michael Bay, who tweeted the new look of the fan-favorite Transformer robot and tagged the dormant account of General Motors in his tweet.

Avid fans of the "Transformers" movie franchise know too well that Bumblebee's new look in the upcoming "Transformers 5" is already his second new look in his vehicle form. It can be recalled that the well-loved Transformer started as a Volkswagen beetle and eventually assumed the Chevy Camaro in the succeeding movie incarnations of the franchise. And, next year, moviegoers will see Bumblebee still as a Chevy Camaro, only in a 2016 custom-built fashion.

According to Collider, though, Bay tagged a dormant account of General Motors in his tweet, noting that the official account of the said carmaker is @GM and no longer @generalmotors, which used to be the official Twitter account of the latter until it became inactive.

With Bumblebee's new vehicle look, fans of "Transformers" can only wonder if his robot form will also be tweaked in the upcoming "Transformers 5" movie.

Apart from whether the custom-built 2016 Camaro will affect the robot form of Bumblebee in the upcoming "Transformers 5" movie, fans are also curious if the same vehicle will be used in the said Transformer robot planned standalone movie feature, which is slated for a 2018 release.

As there is no official word on this yet, only time can tell if it will really happen.

Meanwhile, Bay also revealed earlier that Megatron is coming back to "Transformers 5" to be the movie's main villain once more.

"Transformers 5" is slated for a June 23 showing date, a schedule that would have drectly pitted it against Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman" movie if the latter had not moved up to a June 2, 2017 playdate.
