With Fury scheduled to face Klitschko in a rematch on July 9, the "Gypsy King" has once again gotten worldwide attention following remarks that he would be retiring after that match – win, lose or draw. The upcoming rematch is a result of a clause in their previous contract which has restricted him from facing other fighters like Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua for now.

In an interview, Fury did reveal that he needed to get a move on to get back to fighting shape. The long layoff has resulted in him gaining excess pounds and the Briton needs to buckle down and train for him to be ready at an expectedly fired-up Ukrainian on July 9 at the Manchester Arena.

Fury intends to undergo a rigid eight-week training period and finish his career strong. His surprise revelation on retirement comes as a shocker to many, considering his young age of 27 and the fact that many were hoping for new ways to make the heavyweight division appealing once more.

One point on why he has considered retirement is allegedly because he wants to spend more time with his kids. He says he misses seeing his offspring grow up. Right now, not everyone is sold at his idea, with most believing it could be part of another act that Fury has been known to pull.

Aside from the color he has been known to add, there are fighters eager to get their hands on Fury. That includes Deontay Wilder, who he had a heated exchange with before, and Anthony Joshua, who is the current IBF champion.

It could also be part of racking in fans for July 9, seeing that the event may not draw in 100% viewership with other events such as UFC 200 also happening on that day.
