The MGM Grand Garden Arena will be rocking as UFC 187 will host two big title fights, with Anthony "Rumble" Johnson facing off against Daniel "DC" Cormier, while Chris Weidman goes up against Vitor Belfort.

Preliminaries start at 6:30 PM ET on May 23, 2015 to be followed by the live pay-per-view event.

The event is headlined by a Light-Heavyweight tilt to determine who will win the vacant title.

Johnson was supposed to fight then-champion Jon "Bones" Jones, but the latter was stripped of his title and indefinitely suspended due to issues which occurred outside the Octagon.

He was replaced by Cormier, who Bones had battled last to defend his crown, with the winner getting the belt at the 205-pound division.

Starting with his return to the UFC in April 2014, Johnson has been on a tear as he has notched three wins against big-named stars such as Phil Davis, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Alexander Gustafsson.

He secured his title shot after a TKO win over Gustafsson in UFC on Fox 14, stopping the towering Swede with punches in a title eliminator.

"Rumble" has a record of 19 wins and only four losses, with 13 of his wins by either KO or TKO.

Meanwhile, Cormier was on a 15-fight win streak, including four straight in the Octagon before his title shot against Jones. He lost a unanimous decision over the champion, but now sees another opportunity to get the gold around his waist.

He is known for his smothering wrestling style that leaves opponents tired and their offense nullified – and he will undoubtedly look to do the same against Johnson.

Meanwhile, the co-main event may be as popular as the final match of the evening – and could easily be the main fight in any other UFC card.

Middleweight champion Chris Weidman has been spectacular since winning the title back in July 2013.

He was a heavy underdog against UFC-great Anderson "Spider" Silva, but the "All-American" pulled one of the biggest surprises with a KO win in the second round.

Despite many considering it to be a fluke, Weidman faced off again against Silva in a rematch in December of the same year, this time ending with Silva breaking his leg after Weidman blocked his kick.

Finally silencing critics, Weidman then faced Silva teammate Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida and beat the former Light-Heavyweight champions via an unanimous decision.

He has an unblemished 12-0 record with five wins coming off KO/TKO.

His opponent is considered a legend in the game and is on a three-fight win streak – Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort.

At 38 years old, the Brazilian has head-kicked his way to a title shot after knocking out Michael Bisping, Luke Rockhold and Dan Henderson via kicks to the head.

He has a 24-10 record and may be facing his final run at the title.

There are also a lot of exciting fights in the undercard as Donald Cerrone meets John Makdessi, Andre Arlovski faces off against Travis Browne, Joseph Benavidez squares off against John Moraga, and John Dodson battles Zach Makovsky.

The rest of the card includes battles between Josh Burkman and Dong Hyun Kim, Uriah Hall and Rafael Natal, Rose Namajunas and Nina Ansaroff, Mike Pyle and Colby Covington, Leo Kuntz and Islam Makhacheev and Justin Scoggins and Josh Sampo.
