Under the Dome season 2 episode 1 to premiere next week: Stephen King to appear in cameo episode

The second season of the television adaptation of Stephen King's Under The Dome has revealed its premiere date, along with some spoilers that will get viewers excited.

CBS will air the second season of Under The Dome on Monday, June 30. Before the second season starts, the show will have a 1-hour special called "Inside Chester Mill" on June 24 which will showcase highlights from the previous season as well as some previews on the upcoming second season. During the said special, cast members and show runners will discuss and possibly give hints what fans and viewers will expect in the upcoming season, including what will happen to the residents still trapped under the dome.

Meanwhile, a title has already been set for the first episode of season 1, and it will be called "Heads Will Roll."

"Barbie's fate lies in Big Jim's hands, and the Dome presents a new threat when it becomes magnetized," states the episode's official preview description. The second season is set to have 13 episodes, which will include an anticipated cameo from the book's famed author, Stephen King.

"It was fantastic to work directly with Stephen. He's been a real hero of mine and now I get to work with him," said producer Neal Baer in an interview with USA Today. Baer added that the author will play a citizen of Chester's Mill at the moment.

"He often does little cameos, a la Hitchcock, in his films, so we thought that would be really cool if he did it again," added the show runner.
