History Channel gave out fresh details about the third season of "Vikings," and its fans can expect the new installment to air on February 2015.

The third season of Vikings will serve 10 new episodes starting on February 19, each week at 10 p.m. ET. The third season will still follow Ragnar Lothbrok, the farmer-turned-expedition leader played by actor Travis Fimmel. The end of second season saw how Ragnar became king, and the third season will follow his leadership and adventures in this new prestigious role.

History also released an official synopsis for the third season, and it says that Ragnar will gamble by leading his people onto Wessex, since there is land promised to him by King Ecbert (Linus Roache). It is uncertain if the King will deliver his promise, as he has made many promises in the past. However, this does not bother Ragnar since he is always searching for more and wanting more. Because of his unending desire to roam and discover, Ragnar will be led to the city of Paris.

The third season will undoubtedly show how Ragnar and his army will try to break down the walls of Paris and establish their leadership in it. This was one of the most historical moves of the Norsemen, and it will be interesting how History intends to portray this legendary tale.

The show will also feature a new set of characters for season 3. Kevin Durand will play Harbard, a wanderer who found himself in Kattagat when Ragnar and his army was at a raid. Harbard's arrival will stun Siggy and Queen Aslaug, as they have dreamed about his arrival before. Another new character is the spiritual land powerful Emperor Charles of France, which will be played by Lothairre Bluteau. Emperor Charles' courageous daughter, Princess Gisla will be played by Morgan Polanksi.
