'Vikings' season 3 spoilers: fear grips Paris as Vikings invade

(The History Channel/official Facebook page)

"Vikings" has seen some shocking deaths this season but a bloody battle in the upcoming episode 7 titled "Paris" is sure to increase the season's death toll. Last episode viewers saw the Viking fleet prepare for the siege, now fans of the show will see a bloody battle as the Vikings finally invade Paris.

A sneak peek video reveals that Ragnar will speak to the Anglo-Saxon monk Athelstan about the forthcoming war with France. The monk informs the leader that the next destination for his troupe is a place surrounded with huge stone walls. The monk also adds that the city is impregnable. However, this doesn't stop the leader from going forward with his plans to seize Paris.

International Business Times reports that emperor Charles will not be running away, due to his daughter's request. The emperor will announce that he is going to stay in the city along with her. A bloody battle ensues and panic spreads all over Paris as invaders attempt to seize the city. Will the Vikings be successful? Will the Seer's prophesy come true? Was Athelstan right bout the city being impregnable?

Christian Today reports that Ragnar keeps King Ecbert's betrayal a secret since the Vikings value vengeance over ambition and do not take it lightly. He does this in order to prevent the siege in Paris, since revenge will override their ambitious plans to conquer Paris.

The website also reports that, although not mentioned in the episode's synopsis, some screen time will be spent in showing Judith and young Alfred, who is destined to avenge his father, Athelstan, by fending off the Vikings. Remember that Alfred grows up to be Alfred the Great, one of the greatest king of England, so his early life may give viewers a glimpse into the greatest monarch of England.

Episode 7 airs on Thursday, April 2 at 10 p.m. ET on The History Channel.
