"Vikings" ended with a shocking season three finale with Ragnar's life still hanging in the balance. While fans loved the raid in Paris, what can they expect moving forward? Spoilers reveal that more bloodshed, cliff-hangers and battles await the Viking feet.

Hitflix had an extensive interview with creator of the series, Michael Hirst, where he revealed many things fans should expect in season four. The first few episodes of season four will deal with the aspect of Floki's confession of killing Athelstan to Ragnar. Many fans had assumed Ragnar knew and Hirst confirms that Ragnar did know Floki killed his one trustworthy friend and brother. He said, "I, too think that Ragnar has known for quite some time that Floki was the killer and yet he hasn't done anything about it. And that's an interesting question. Why has he not done anything, punished Floki, arrested him?"

Hirst also revealed that the Vikings would travel to many places such as Iceland, Greeland, Ireland and Mediterranean regions. This organic expansion of the series stems from history books that tell the tale of Bjorn, Ragnar's son, sailing around the Mediterranean. While a ninth century Paris was exciting to watch, the Mediterranean regions will surely amp the series and make a truly sensational watch. It seems the Paris raid was just the beginning of a wonderful journey for "Vikings" fans.

Hirst also confirmed a significant time jump in season four. However, Hirst also specified that it would not be a huge time jump of ten years, so fans should expect it to only be a couple of years.

Design & Trend also noted that Ragnar's weakened health will continue to be a problem in season four but Ragnar's sons might get more screen time in order to move the series forward. Viewers would love to see the Viking leader survive in season four but whether he will remains to be seen.

"Vikings" season three will feature 16 episodes and airs sometime next year.
