'Warcraft' movie news: Film director Duncan Jones sees humorous side of leaked trailer but wants fans to wait for real one

A clip of what appears to be the official trailer for the much anticipated, "Warcraft," movie was leaked a few days ago. Now, film director, Duncan Jones, appears to have taken notice of the leak, as he just commented on the video, which was, assumingly, shown during the San Diego Comic-Con, held a couple months back.

When a trailer for a big movie is leaked, typically, the network behind it releases the original copy to the public, pretty similar to what happened with Warner Bros' "Suicide Squad" after the SDCC. However, for the "Warcraft" movie, it seems like this is not going to happen as Jones said on his Twitter, "I just wish we could show the real thing."

Therefore, looks like fans will just have to wait for "Warcraft's" official trailer, which, based on his tweet, will stick to its scheduled release this coming November.

Meanwhile, in another tweet, the director jokingly responded to @Willy_Foss' post about the quality of the leaked trailer and said, "you don't like it at low res and covered in user ids?!"

In the leaked video, fans can pretty much have an idea about what the final movie might actually look like. The almost perfect blend of real life actors and CGI can be seen and the clip lived up to Jones' description of the film. In November of last year, as reported by GameSpot, he said that "Warcraft" movie is going to be like "Avatar and Lord of the Rings at the same time."

And it's probably because of how the characters and CGI blend. Plus, the setting of the story is in a medieval fantasy age where there are gryphons, goblins, orcs, humans, which kind of has a similar theme to J.R.R. Tolkien's popular novel series-turned-film series, "Lord of the Rings."

"Warcraft" movie is set to premiere in theaters next year, June 2016.
