Ubisoft has introduced a major patch to Watch Dogs in response to community feedback for its open-world hacking game.

"A new patch will be released in the next days for Watch_Dogs. The main purpose of this patch is to respond to community feedback by changing or improving certain features, as well as fixing some minor bugs. It was ultimately designed to optimize your player experience and add some replay options to the game," a Community Manager codenamed Rawrena posted in a forum.

The drinking games particularly garnered a number of feedback from fans, and were re-tuned with this last patch.

As for the replay options, players are now able to reset earlier played Gang Hideouts and Convoy Missions.

There were also added features for the multiplayer section.

The patch lets players hack their friends, which can only be oppressed via online options.

Also, ctOS mobile was introduced to prevent gameplay stoppage for console or PC, when a mobile player disconnects from the game.

This Watch Dogs update also addresses bad behavior in multiplayer:

"Players who are frequently disconnecting from multiplayer matches will be pooled together and paired only against players with similar online behaviors," the patch notes read.

The notes continued, "If you're playing against someone else who disconnects unfairly, you will get the same amount of Notoriety as if you had won at that moment. The disconnector will not receive any Notoriety."

The patch is now available in the American region, while European territories will get the patch update on August 26.

When Watch Dogs was launched last May, pundits saw the potential of the game taking on Grand Theft Auto as an action sandbox shooter game.

The game sold four million copies during the first week of its release, making it Ubisoft's most successful game entry, even beating Assassin Creed 3's record.

It sold a total of eight million copies by July and is now positioning itself as the French publisher's major franchise.

Watch Dogs received rave reviews for its genius vehicle sequences that highlights how hacking can differentiate it from GTA's road manslaughter.
