The upcoming episode of "Wayward Pines" season 2 will see the Abbies attack as the town's food supplies run low.

The official synopsis for episode 6, titled "City Upon a Hill," reads: "The Abbies attack CJ and the harvesters, leaving Teresa in grave danger and the town dangerously low on food supplies. Then, Theo constructs a makeshift triage unit, but he may not be able to repair his marriage to Rebecca. Also, Xander still has some fight left in him as Jason questions his abilities to lead."

A trailer has also been released for the new episode and it features the Abbies looking highly provoked. It seems that the Abbies are back and have managed to find their way to the valley. Chaos looks to be rampant in the upcoming episode as the Abbies attack a camp and fire starts spreading. It is also made clear that their food rations are in danger of being lost, which means the people of the town will not be able to survive. They presumably have less than six weeks.

Several speculations in the comments section point to the captured Abbie being the creatures' queen. There is wide belief that the female Abbie has some sort of power to transmit messages to the rest of the legion, telling them exactly how they should attack. It remains to be seen if these speculations are proven correct.

Meanwhile, here is a recap of the previous episode, titled "Sound the Alarm."

A captured Abbie nicknamed Margaret was placed in the lab for study and experimentation. Megan extracted spinal fluid from Margaret, who doesn't even flinch, and it sparks the question of whether Abbies can even feel pain or not. Theo is named the new head of research against the Abbies, much to Megan's dismay.

Frank, on the other hand, was forced into a room with a young girl to procreate for the repopulation of the Earth. Unfortunately, he's unable to do it and his sexuality is brought into question.

Meanwhile, Rebecca had confessed to Theo that she has actually been married to Xander for a year. Understandably upset, Theo punched Xander and left without his wedding ring.

"Wayward Pines" season 2 episode 6 will air on Wednesday, June 29 on FOX.
