The upcoming eight-part Netflix series "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp" just released a new trailer and it reminded everyone that it aims to carry on with much of the spirit and plot that the 2001 film contained.

This is the second trailer for the upcoming series. It is a full-length version compared to the initial teaser that was released a little over a week ago. The first trailer showed some of the stars of the 2001 film including Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler and Elizabeth Banks, while the recent trailer showcased more of their activities at Camp Firewood.

The upcoming "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp" series, as its name indicates, will be focusing on the first day of camp in 1981 and not on the last day as the film did.

A lot of A-list stars have also joined the prequel series. The new cast members are Chris Pine, Jason Schwartzman, Kristen Wiig and Jon Hamm. Some of the stars of the original film are also set to return.

Among those original cast members are Bradley Cooper, H. Jon Benjamin, Michael Showalter, Michael Ian Black and Janeane Garofalo. The trailer was very interesting despite the fact that the cast obviously look much older. One thing fans have noticed, however, is how young Paul Rudd still looks when he made his entrance on his motorcycle.

In terms of plot lines, there is going to be one involving the launch of the theatre in the camp and another about the war veteran Gene (Christopher Meloni). Hamm was also featured in the trailer and showed that he underwent military training.

"Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp" will be landing on Netflix on July 31st and many are hoping that the upcoming series will do much better than the original film.
