Windows 10 news: Xbox app updated have game streaming

The latest Windows version will seamlessly stitch together Microsoft PCs and Xbox Ones. And last Monday, the new Windows 10 build was released with the new Xbox features.

During this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Microsoft announced that their eighth-generation videogame console will have two key features: backwards compatibility and game streaming from a Windows 10 PC. And with Windows 10 about to rollout soon to the public, the Redmond technology company is starting to lay more grounds for the new Windows version.

Last Monday, it launched the Windows 10 Build 10158 that comes with the new Xbox feature that was promised during their E3 presentation. With the new Windows 10 build, any Xbox One can update to the Preview version, which will reflect version number 6.6.27004.00000 for the Xbox on the Windows 10 app.

With the updated Xbox on Windows 10 app, any PC with Windows 10 can function almost like an Xbox One, says Gotta Be Mobile. Players can now plug a controller to their Windows 10 computers and interact with any Xbox One player via Xbox Live. Players can also start streaming their games to their videogame consoles. Along with the update are the launch games, "Fable Legends" and "Gigantic."

The official Xbox blog outlines other improvements that came with the Xbox on Windows 10 app. New Xbox users who also own a PC are also now allowed to create Xbox Live accounts directly from the app itself.

"My Games," an included feature, will show any Windows game downloaded from the Windows Store, making the connection between Xbox and PC more seamless. Windows games may also be added manually by choosing "My games" and selecting "Add a game from your PC."

Players now also have the ability to share achievements and screenshots. "Avatars" have also been changed to the same layout and iconography as the Xbox and have been renamed to "Xbox Avatars."

Microsoft encourages those who have downloaded the new the Xbox on Windows 10 app to report issues and give feedback via the Xbox One Preview.

Windows 10 is still set for release later this month, July 29.
