"Winds Of Winter" is coming. George RR Martin has revealed in his blog post that he is cancelling certain tour dates in order to concentrate on other myriad projects, key of which is penning the "Winds Of Winter". Book readers have been avidly following the latest developments regarding the book's release since the last one came out in 2011.

The wait may not be too long now as rumors peg the release to be sometime next year. Martin's blog, as per iDigital Times, highlights that he has cancelled appearances for World Fantasy Convention and San Diego Comic Con in order to concentrate on a number of things, including completing his "Winds Of Winter" novel. He also specified that his fans should expect more cancellations in the future.

George RR Martin wrote that apart from the book, he is editing the latest Wild Cards volume, a sci-fi anthology series. Moreover, his deal with HBO entails three new television concepts that are in various stages of development, consultation on video games, producing the wild cards movie and forming a production company that makes films based on classic short stories.

Definitely seems that the bearded "Game Of Thrones" writer has a lot on his plate. Esquire also reports that the author and producer would not pen an episode of season six. Traditionally, Martin pens one episode of each season of "Game Of Thrones", but this time he won't be writing any since the endeavor requires at least three weeks. The 67-year-old concluded his blog post by telling readers he is confident that scriptwriting for season six will be handled well by producers David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Bryan Cogman.

"Winds Of Winter" is the sixth installment of "A Song Of Ice And Fire" series. The last book released in the franchise was "A Dance With Dragons".
