Superhero movies are making big headlines in the industry these days, with Marvel and DC talking to A-list celebrities for possible roles. Meanwhile, Fox is still busy helming the new X-Men movie, the follow-up of Bryan Singer's 'Days of Future Past,' 'X-Men: Apocalypse.'

According to reports, the famous movie franchise is courting 'Inception' actor Tom Hardy to play the titular role of Apocalypse, though no confirmation has been announced.

Recently, there were news of Hardy dropping out of the casting race of playing Doctor Strange in the self-titled movie, since he is also slated to join David Ayer's 'Suicide Squad,' which will be released on August 2016.

X-Men: Apocalypse's release date is set for May 2016, and if Hardy ever decides to take on the role of Apocalypse, it will be quite a busy fall for him.

Meanwhile, there are reports suggesting that the superhero movie will get a new title, 'X-Men: Akkaba.'

Akkaba refers to the group of people who worship and follow Apocalypse. The title change came into play when a casting call for the movie was released, calling for three teenage actors to play a role, possibly playing young versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm.
