As part of a special promotion to celebrate the 100 million games downloaded milestone, Microsoft will be offering double the amount of freebies in its Games with Gold program this coming April. Xbox One users will have access to two free games while Xbox 360 users will have access to a total of four free games.

The April Games with Gold program will be headlined by Ubisoft's role-playing game 'Child of Light' for the Xbox One. Other prominent games included in the program are Assassins' Creed IV: Black Flag and Gears of War: Judgment, both for the Xbox 360 console.

Since its release, 'Child of Light' has received mostly positive reviews from professional critics, compiling an 82% rating for the Xbox One version on the review aggregator Meta Critic. The game has been praised for its stylistic graphics, thought-provoking story line, and engaging gameplay.

The game uses a fantasy setting in the fictional world of Lemuria where players take on the role of Aurora, the so-called 'Child of Light'. She is tasked with returning the sun, the moon, and the stars under the possession of the enigmatic Queen of the Night.

Child of Light's combat system is similar to that of the 'Final Fantasy' series in that it utilizes an Active Time Battle system. Although the system's mechanics are simple, players are offered a wide variety of battles and enemies to combat, ensuring a dynamic gameplay experience.

Aside from 'Child of Light', Games with Gold members will also be able to enjoy titles from long-running game franchises in the form of 'Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag' and 'Gears of War: Judgment'. The two franchises are among the highest selling games in their respective genres and are among the most played games on the Xbox Live.
