Xbox Games with Gold September 2016 free games prediction: Company might reveal its September lineup during Gamescom 2016

(Xbox)Two new titles will be available next week to Xbox Games with Gold members.

With August halfway over, gamers are once again anticipating what games will be appearing in the Xbox Games with Gold lineup for September.

As August reaches its midway point, Microsoft will be changing the games that will be offered in their Xbox Games with Gold program. The company generally releases four games a month, with two titles offered during the first half of the month, followed by the other two during the second half. Two titles will be offered for each console as well.

Rumors abounded that Games with Gold members might be getting such titles like "Red Dead Redemption," "Dead Rising 3," and "Ryse: Son of Rome" for August. So it was quite a disappointment when the company offered "Spelunky" and "Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate" instead. The former is available in the Xbox 360, while the latter is offered to Xbox One owners. Players can avail of discounted prices for "Spelunky" until Aug. 15, while "Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate" will be offered until the end of the month. Last month's hold-over game, "Tumblestone," is still available, at least until the 15th.

Two new games are set to be offered next week though, "WWE 2K16" on the Xbox One and "Beyond Good & Evil HD" on the Xbox 360. Both games will be available until the end of the month.

Unsurprisingly, since there has been no news or hints from Microsoft as to what titles will be coming to the Games with Gold September lineup, speculations have begun anew. While there are those that are still hoping for "Red Dead Redemption" and "Dead Rising 3" to appear next month, there are others who believe that the company will be revealing next month's titles during Gamescom 2016. The annual video games trade fair will be held in Cologne, Germany from Aug. 18 to Aug. 21.
