Microsoft now has its fresh lineup of free game titles for the month of May as part of its Xbox Live Games with Gold program. Console owners who subscribe to this program will get free games every month.

As for the month of May, Microsoft offers four free games – two for each console, Xbox One and Xbox 360. Based on the lineup from Microsoft, the company did not release AAA game titles.

Nevertheless, game titles that were exclusive for Xbox 360 can now be played in the latest console with the help of the backwards compatibility feature.

For Xbox 360, the free game titles announced are "GRID 2" and "Peggle." "GRID 2" is the sequel to the award-winning game, "Race Driver: GRID." "GRID 2" is downloadable until May 15. "Peggle," on the other hand, will be available on May 16 until May 31, so players will need to wait for a few weeks.

For Xbox One players, available free this month are "Defense Grid 2,"  available for download until May 31, and "Costume Quest 2," which will be offered free starting May 16 until May 31.

Apart from these four free game titles, players still have time to catch one game from April– "Sunset Overdrive." The game, which was originally priced at $20, will be available as a free download until May 15.

All these games will be available for only those who are signed up to the Xbox Live Gold program. An annual subscription fee of $60 will entitle players to enjoy different free games all throughout.

As mentioned, many players may not consider May's lineup to be as exciting as the games list from April, which included "Dead Space," "Saints Row 4," and "The Wolf Among Us." However, they are free of charge so they are still great deals.
