Microsoft has confirmed that a series of August Xbox One firmware updates have started rolling out.

"Last night, we began rolling out the next Xbox One system update to fans around the world, including improved social features to make sharing your gaming experiences with friends better and easier. These new features are a result of your invaluable feedback, including some of the most requested features seen on Xbox Feedback," Major Nelson said in the official Xbox blog announcing the new updates.

Major Nelson has also posted a walk-through video on YouTube.

Mobile purchases, one of the most requested features on Xbox Feedback, are being introduced, too.

Through Xbox SmartGlass or Xbox.com, players can remotely purchase games and add-on content anytime, anywhere. This has been deemed valuable for gamers who are always on the go.

Aside from mobile purchasing, "social sharing" is also intensified with the latest August updates.

New sharing elements are added for Upload Studio on Xbox One.

"To date, five million Xbox One gamers have created more than 500 million clips, and there are more than one million active Upload creators every month using Upload Studio and Kinect to edit clips and share their voice and personality with friends and the Upload community," an Xbox Wire staff posted.

Players can now see the number of people who have watched their uploaded clips, for example a cool game playthrough video, and see what's trending in a new section that lists the most popular ones.

The overhauled Xbox One Activity Feed and Messaging System will serve as a platform where users can interact and share clips with their friends.

The lineup of updates also includes a low battery notification, the ability to turn off notifications, enabling 3D Blu-ray and a "last seen" feature.

All of the new things that Xbox One launched for August came from the users' suggestions and comments posted on Xbox Feedback.
