Microsoft is rolling out the Xbox One October System Update that includes a multitude of features involving social, achievements, applications and accessories.

"We're excited to roll out updated features this month that take advantage on the multitasking capabilities of Xbox One and connect with your friends in better ways than before thanks to your feedback," Major Nelson (Larry Hryb) wrote in the official Xbox News Page.

Earlier in September, Xbox announced that there would be a major system update coming for Xbox One in October.

There are four areas where enhancements are injected: Snap and Friends, TV and video, accessory and password.

The social section of Xbox One system is now bringing players closer to their friends more than ever with all-new and improved Snap, SmartGlass and Achievements functions.

Xbox One has listened to the clamor of the fans and added the following in Snap Updates: Friends, Messages, Game DVR, clock, and battery indicator.

Whether a player chooses to watch TV or use SmartGlass as a universal remote, viewing experience has been greatly enriched.

The Xbox One October system update also extends the capability to easily assign accessories to specific users.

Password resets are made easier and stricter.

"We're making it easier and more secure to reset your password and add protection to your accounts. Coming later this month, if you haven't set up your security information already, we'll ask you to provide an alternate email address or cell phone number to use if you ever need your password reset. You'll only need to set this up once per account, and you won't need it every time you sign in," Major Nelson said.
